False Alarm Prevention Information

Why is my service light on is the number 1 question?

Answer - For NX-6 or NX8 - if service is required - the service light will be on:

Press *2 the zones will light up as follows:

• Zone 1-System Fault, press the [1] key and see what lights not light up.
• 1 - over current fault
• 2 - siren trouble
• 3 - box tamper
• 4 - expander power
• 5 - expander low battery
• 6 - expander box tamper
• 7 - expander trouble
• 8 - ground fault
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 2 - press 2 and the zone lights will illuminate showing the zone that were tampered with
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 3 - low battery
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 4 - zone loss of supervision
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 5 - zone trouble - press 5 - the zone light(s) will illuminate showing you the trouble zone.
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 6 - telephone fault - press 6:
• 6 - line trouble/line cut
• 7 - auxiliary comm.. device fail
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 7 - failure to communicate
• Press # to return to service lights
• Zone 8 - loss of system time
• Press # to return to service lights
