Electrical FAQ’s

How do I keep my smoke detector from going off in the middle of the night and there is no smoke or fire?

If your smoke detector is over 7 years old it needs to be replaced. If less then 7 years it may need to be cleaned. If your home is wired where all the smokes make noise when tested there may only be one that is causing the system to false.  Take your vacuum cleaner and clean around all of the detectors to clean out the dust that may be in detector. If this does not solve problem you may need to call for service to have the detector replaced.
